PRESS ‘1’

TO PRAY

Juxtaposing the divine next to a dump.

A church next to a metal scrapyard.

During a site visit, I came across a rather curious building next to a metal scrapyard. I called up the number and found through Google Maps – ‘Press ‘1’ to Pray’, responded a rather mechanical voice. I thus questioned the likelihood of a church next to a metal scrapyard, which developed into my second year project – to juxtapose the divine next to a dump.

FOLLOWING

A FICTION

Questioning thresholds and the

meaning of ‘natural

-an installation

One glance at Lea Valley and you see ‘nature’, but a closer look reveals it is anything but natural – a landscape tempered by human hands and infested by foreign species. The lack of boundaries translates into a blurring of meaning. The proposal then, is to test how the imposition of an edge may articulate this meaning.

UNBUILT

CHURCHILL

Exploring architectural space

in Virtual Reality

A self-driven project for Churchill College, Cambridge University: I developed a virtual reality simulation of the college and its propositional ‘Creative Hub’, an unbuilt project by Assemble Architects. The simulation uses videogame software to incorporate user interactive elements – ie throwable furniture, holographic texts, wind-animated vegetation, and meticulous 3D-rendering to present a fully immersive experience.
